Designing Your Own Printing Styles

PrintChef's "Print Designer"		The core of PrintChef's Nuclear Printing Power is the "printing style". Printing styles allow you to create new page sizes, layout those pages onto different paper sizes, and then specify which pages will print. With a printing style, you can create booklets, multi-ups, label sheets, letterheads, invoices, personalized output, watermarks, and so much more your own reactor will run wild with what you can print... The PrintChef Designer lets you design for the two phases of the printing process: (1) collection of pages from the application, and (2) the mapping of those pages onto the paper that prints.
Page Design		The Page Design process allows you to tailor each page individually or to simply specify how the 'odd' and 'even' pages will look. You can add letterhead logos to page 1, page counts to the remaining pages, or add date, time, custom commands, and paginate the remaining pages on the outside edge (great for booklets). You can even incorporate database commands and have PrintChef merge at print-time with your layout to create variable data prints.
Paper Design		Once you have completed the page design, you can add a Paper Design. Paper designs allow you to combine multiple pages onto one piece of paper, creating booklets, multi-ups, label sheets, and bleed layouts. You can replicate page combinations to create multi-copy prints that label each copy (e.g Shipping, Customer, Accounting). Or, use the full power of PrintChef's page-on-paper layout capability to create impositions and printer signatures.
Main Features		The Tool palette-- Provides some familiar drawing, text, clipping, and selection tools to assist you in printing style creation. The Transform palette-- Allows you to fine tune your printing style by letting you move, rotate, scale, skew, flip, clip, and colorize each object. PrintChef has Page and Paper design areas so you can get what the Application sees and the Printer sees just right. PrintChef has 35 built-in commands to allow you to incorporate time, date, page numbers, user name, printer name, file name, and job ID into any print. And, PrintChef can even incorporate up to 100 fields from your favorite database program into any printed output. PrintChef's sophisticated layout system allows you to see what you will get-- you can even import re:Print files and preview them so you can "test" output during the design process (this is great for testing database merges). Tool help, help lines, and "What's this?" help keep you on track during the design process.
PrintChef has flexibility built-in		With PrintChef, you create a printing style once and use it over and over again... Printing styles allow you to control printing the way you want-- add graphics, images, text, commands, "variable" text, and "variable'" images. Create your own letterheads, invoices, greeting cards, watermarks, greeting cards, certificates, tickets, coupons, and more... Colorize images, graphics, text, and even the output page from the application printing.
